There is no single alternative to Spring, because Spring sells four different financing products plus a software plan. If you have no retailer purchase order and simply need operating cash, compare Spring's Bridge Funding with a merchant cash advance, revenue-based funding or a working capital loan. If you are a consumer brand holding a signed PO from an approved retailer and you clear $1M in yearly revenue, Spring's PO financing is built for that job and staying with Spring may be the better call.
Review My Funding Options →According to its website, checked October 15, 2026, Spring (operated by SpringCash LLC in New York) offers four kinds of financing and a separate software subscription. Each has its own rules, so an alternative only makes sense once you know which one you are replacing.
Restaurants, contractors, salons and storefronts rarely hold a Walmart or Target purchase order, so three of Spring's four financing products simply do not apply to them. For these owners the only Spring product in play is Bridge Funding, and the fair comparison is with other money that is repaid out of business revenue.
At Merchant Fund Express that means a merchant cash advance or revenue-based funding. MFE's guidelines for an advance commonly start around $7,500 a month in revenue and often 3+ months in business, and credit scores from 500 are considered. Amounts run from $5,000 to $5,000,000, so a request above Bridge's $500,000 ceiling can still be reviewed. Spring publishes no minimum revenue, time in business or credit score for Bridge; it says it runs a credit check when it prepares the offer.
Ask both companies for the same three numbers: the total amount that will be collected, the daily or weekly payment, and what happens to that payment in a slow week. Our page on revenue-based financing vs MCA explains how the two collection styles differ.
Some owners want a payment that never moves, because it is easier to plan payroll around. Bridge Funding works the other way: Spring says repayment follows revenue, so a busy week pays a little more and a slow week a little less, up to the weekly ceiling. If you would rather know the exact payment on every date, look at a working capital loan. MFE's guideline for that product is around $17,500 a month in revenue, 6+ months in business and roughly 600+ credit.
If the need comes and goes, such as seasonal stock or slow-paying customers, a business line of credit charges interest only on what you draw. MFE's line guideline is about $17,500 a month, 1+ year in business and around 650+ credit. Outside demand plan financing, which is tied to retailer orders, Spring does not list a general revolving line among its products.
$5,000 to $5,000,000. Scores from 500 considered. Same-day decisions are common on complete files.
Review My Funding Options →Spring's pricing page, checked October 15, 2026, puts the platform at $499 a month. Spring states that financing is priced separately, per advance, and that the subscription is not a markup on capital. What its pages leave open is whether a Bridge Funding customer must also subscribe, so put that question to Spring in writing before you apply.
Illustrative math: if a subscription were required for the six months an advance is outstanding, it would add 6 x $499 = $2,994 to what the money costs you, on top of the fixed fee. If the software is optional and you would pay for forecasting and retailer outreach anyway, treat it as a software expense instead. MFE's menu contains financing products only, with no software plan, so line up the total payback in an MFE offer against Spring's fixed fee plus any subscription you would really pay. The funding cost calculator helps you put both on one page.
Spring's application is designed to be finished online: roughly six minutes of questions, owner details for anyone holding 25% or more, a read-only Plaid bank connection or uploaded statements, then a photo ID and selfie check. Spring lists email, phone and text support.
If you would rather talk the file through with a person before and after you apply, MFE's team answers at (305) 384-8391 in English and Spanish. The paperwork is the usual set: 3 to 4 months of business bank statements, a photo ID, a voided check and a short application, with financials sometimes requested for larger amounts.
Spring's public pages do not say whether Bridge Funding can be used to pay off an existing merchant cash advance. Its review asks you to connect every account the business is paid into, so any existing daily debits will be visible either way. When an earlier advance is the reason cash is tight, a payoff or restructuring can matter more than fresh money.
MFE offers MCA refinance and buyout and consolidation for that situation. Have the current balance, the payment amount and frequency, and a payoff letter from each funder ready before you call.
In those cases the routes on this page are a fallback, not an upgrade. MFE's invoice factoring covers business and government customers on net 30 to 90 terms, but when every dollar you need runs through retailer purchase orders, a provider designed around those orders is usually the more natural fit.

Spring describes Bridge Funding as a purchase of a share of your future receipts rather than a loan. You pay one fixed fee shown before you accept, and a set share of daily receipts is collected by ACH up to a weekly ceiling, according to spring.ai as checked October 15, 2026.
Only for purchase order financing. Spring lists at least $1M in annual revenue for PO financing and points smaller businesses toward factoring or Bridge Funding. Bridge itself publishes no revenue minimum; it asks for a registered US business with revenue, an EIN and a business bank account.
MFE does not list purchase order financing. A working capital loan or an advance can cover a production run, but you repay it from your own deposits instead of from the retailer's payment. After you ship and bill, MFE's invoice factoring can advance against business customers on net 30 to 90 terms.
Spring says it runs a credit check when it prepares a Bridge offer, and its Bridge page calls it a soft check. No minimum score is published. MFE considers scores from 500, and stronger credit generally leads to better offers.
Compare the total dollars collected, the payment size and how often it is taken, whether a software subscription comes with it, and what happens in a slow week. A lower fee with a heavier weekly payment can strain cash more than a slightly higher fee spread evenly.
