Illustrative sizing: At $1M a month the useful question is not "how many times revenue" but "what is this money for and what secures it." That framing usually gets a better structure than a flat advance. These are general guidelines to help you plan, not offers or commitments. Amounts and terms depend on your bank statements, credit and existing obligations.

Documents funders typically ask for

  • Last 6 to 12 months of business bank statements (all accounts)
  • Government-issued photo ID for each owner
  • Last 2 years of business tax returns and year-to-date financials
  • Balance sheet and profit and loss
  • Complete debt schedule with lenders, balances and payments
  • A/R and A/P aging, customer concentration summary
  • Equipment quotes or contracts supporting the specific use of funds

Having these ready is the single easiest way to speed up a decision. Not sure what your statements will show? Read what underwriters look for in your bank statements.

What to consider before you take funding

  • Expect a detailed review. Funders will want to understand your margins and your customers, not only your deposits.
  • Collateral, personal guarantees and covenants are more likely. Understand each before you sign.
  • Total debt service across all lenders drives sizing. Consolidation can change what is available.
  • Because requests are structured, talk to a specialist early. The quiz and calculator give you a starting point, not a quote.
