Illustrative sizing: At $50K a month, a $25,000 request is about half a month of revenue. A $75,000 request is about 1.5 months and will draw closer scrutiny of balances and existing debt. These are general guidelines to help you plan, not offers or commitments. Amounts and terms depend on your bank statements, credit and existing obligations.

Documents funders typically ask for

  • Last 3 to 4 months of business bank statements (all pages)
  • Government-issued photo ID for each owner
  • A voided check or bank letter
  • Completed application, including ownership percentages
  • For equipment: the vendor quote or invoice
  • For factoring: an open invoice list or A/R aging

Having these ready is the single easiest way to speed up a decision. Not sure what your statements will show? Read what underwriters look for in your bank statements.

What to consider before you take funding

  • A single month of $50K does not equal $50K a month. Underwriters average several months and look for consistency.
  • Existing daily or weekly debits count against you. Even one position changes what a new funder will offer.
  • Average daily balance and NSFs matter as much as revenue. A few overdrafts can cut an offer more than a small revenue dip.
  • Ask for an amount you can repay comfortably. See the calculator below to test payment size.
